All on- and off-campus undergraduate students who are registered for the academic year are eligible to receive a METRO Q-Card.
Where do I pick up my METRO Q-Card?
METRO Q Cards are available to new students through their O-Week or College Coordinators through September 24, and after that from the Cashier’s Office.
What happens if my Metro Q-Card is lost or stolen?
Once you realize you have lost your Q Card or it has been stolen, contact the Cashier’s Office immediately at email@example.com.

METRO passengers who fail to pay the proper METRORail or METRO bus fare will have the option of paying a $75 administrative penalty before incurring a fine of up to$500. Offenders will have 30 calendar days from the date of the citation to pay the $75 administrative penalty and avoid the $500 fine. The administrative penalty may be paid in person or by mail at METRO’s Buffalo Bayou facility, Police Records Section, 810 N.San Jacinto, Houston, Texas 77002, in the Central Business District/Downtown.
How do I get to the airport if I don’t have a car?
Answer: It’s easy. You first take the light rail to the Downtown Transit Center rail stop, then transfer to the 102 Bush/IAH bus or the 101 Hobby Airport bus. To get to Hobby Airport, you can also take the light rail to the TMC Transit Center rail stop and then transfer to the 73 Hobby Airport bus.
What is the fastest way to get to the Galleria on METRO?
Answer: There are two easy ways to get to the Galleria, depending on whether you want to do any walking. First, you can take the light rail to the Wheeler Station rail stop, and then transfer to the 25 Richmond bus on Wheeler Street. This bus runs every 15 minutes and drops you off on Post Oak Boulevard near the Galleria. Second, you can exit Rice at Entrance 8 (by the Rice University Police Department at University/Stockton) and board the 73 Uptown/Galleria bus, which drops you off right at the mall. This bus, however, runs about once an hour.
Where can I get something to eat late at night if I don’t feel like ordering a pizza?

Where are the best views of the Houston skyline if I am downtown?
Answer: If you are downtown, you have several options. First, you can take the light rail to the Preston Station rail stop. Walk a few blocks to the JP Morgan Chase Tower on the corner of Texas Avenue and Travis Street which has a free observatory on the 60th floor open during weekday business hours. You can also see downtown from the Hilton of the Americas Skyline Bar & Grill, located on the 24th floor of the hotel. You can get there by taking the light rail to the Main Street Square rail stop, and either walking several blocks or transferring to the 82 Westheimer, 53 Westheimer, or 18 Kirby whose routes are in short walking distance to the hotel and can be boarded on McKinney St. Check out http://www.skyscraperpicture.com/houston.htm for more ideas!
